Brother Dacian (Kevin Joseph Jewell)

Kevin Joseph Jewell was born on 15 November 1938. He was a member of the Marist Brothers who went by the religious name of Brother Dacian. It is known that Brother Dacian taught/served at the following schools in Sydney:

• Marcelin College Randwick; and

• Marist Brothers Eastwood.

In May 2021, Kevin Jewell (aged 82) appeared in the Downing District Court in Sydney over 15 counts of indecently assaulting five boys who were students at Marist Brothers Eastwood. The abuse occurred between 1967 to 1968. Kevin Jewell pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to seven years in prison with eligibility for parole set after four years.
