St Patrick’s Marist College Dundas

St Patrick's Marist College Dundas is an independent Roman Catholic co-educational secondary day school in the tradition of the Marist Brothers, located in Dundas, an Inner Northwest suburb of Sydney, New South Wales.

St Patrick's was founded by the Marist Brothers as a primary school catering for boys on Harrington Street in The Rocks in 1872, leaving it with the distinction of being the oldest school in Australia under the charge of the teaching Brothers, and making the college as Australia's first Marist school. It is too one of the nation's oldest Catholic secondary schools. The College moved to its current site in 1962, and today caters for approximately 1,000 students from Year 7 to Year 12.

The College has been linked to allegations of child sexual abuse in relation to three particular Brothers – Brother Terence Joseph Gilsenan, Brother Ross Francis Murrin, and Brother John Maguire. The allegations go back as far the 1960’s. All three Brothers have been sentenced to jail for child sexual abuse offences committed at other Marist schools.
