Phillip Hardy
Phillip John Hardy is a former lay teacher who used to teach religious studies at Marist Brothers Eastwood in Sydney, NSW. It is reported that in 1995, Phillip Hardy (then aged 41) was sentenced in the District Court in Sydney to 11 years in prison for sexual offences committed against a boy between 1978 to 1986 at the Marist Brothers College. He pleaded guilty to 13 counts (and was found guilty on another five counts). The victims were aged from eight to 16 years of age. It is further reported that Phillip Hardy left the College and began training for the Catholic priesthood with the Divine Word Missionaries at Box Hill in Melbourne but he did not reach ordination.
