Parade College

Parade College is a Catholic all-boys multi-campus secondary school, run under the auspices of the Congregation of Christian Brothers and Edmund Rice Education Australia. The school has two campuses in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria; one at Bundoora; the other, eight kilometres away at Preston. The school was founded by four Christian Brothers in January 1871. Today, the college has almost 1900 students in Years 7–12 across both the Bundoora and the Preston campuses.

The College has also gone through recent controversies in relation to child sexual abuse involving various past brothers. In July 2019, Brother John Laidlaw, for example, was sentenced for 4 and ½ years jail for sexually abusing six students between 1963 to 1984 at various Christian Brothers schools including Parade College at Bundoora. These abuses occurred even when the Catholic Church wrote a report on Brother Laidlaw in 1973 finding him unfit for his position. The church, however, allowed him to continue teaching for another 20 years.
