Brother Rodger Moloney
Brother Rodger William Moloney was a former member of the Brothers Hospitallers of Saint John of God, (officially known as the Hospitaller Order of the Brothers of Saint John of God). The St John of God order is a nursing order and many if not all brothers and priests therefore have nursing or para-medical qualifications. Brother Moloney was born in Australia who served as a hospital pharmacist and psychiatric nurse with the St John of God order at various institutions around the world including Australia, PNG and New Zealand. This includes the following:
Marylands School - Christchurch, New Zealand (Prior - approximately 1971 to 1977);
The Holy See, Vatican City (pharmacist - approximately 1977 to 1978);
Kendall Grange School - Morisset, NSW (late 1990s).
New Zealand High Court records show that Brother Rodger Moloney in June 2008 (aged 73 at the time) was found guilty by a jury on three charges of indecent assault upon boys under 16 years of age and four charges of inducing boys to commit indecent acts when he was Prior at Marylands School in Christchurch, NZ. The charges dated to between approximately 1971 to 1977. In August, it is reported in NZ High Court records that Brother Moloney was sentenced to a maximum of two years and nine months in prison. Brother Moloney served 13 months in jail in New Zealand and was deported back to Australia where he was accepted back by St John of God's order NSW.
