Brother Peter Pemble
Brother Peter William Pemble was born on 6 April 1948. He was a former member of the Marist Brothers who worked at various Marist schools. They include the following:
Marist Brothers High School, Maitland (teacher);
Marcellin College, Randwick (teacher);
St Patrick's Marist College, Dundas (principal);
Marist Catholic College North Shore, North Sydney (principal):
Trinity Catholic College, Lismore - NSW (principal); and
St Gregory’s College Campbelltown, Sydney (principal).
Brother Pemble retired from teaching in 2009.
In 2015, Brother Pemble (aged 67 at the time) was jailed for indecently assaulting a student on two occasions at Marist Brothers High School in Maitland between 1971 to 1972. The NSW District Court in Newcastle heard that Brother Pemble had selected the student the following year to help him to organise sporting activities before isolating him on at two occasions and indecently assaulting him. Brother Pemble pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment with a non-parole period of nine months.
