Brother Peter Nicholas Lennox
Brother Peter Lennox was born on 14 June 1939. He was a former Christian Brother who worked/taught at various schools in Sydney and regional New South Wales. These schools included (amongst others):
St Paul’s Catholic College Manly - Sydney, NSW;
St Patrick's College Goulburn (now known as Trinity Catholic College) - Goulburn, NSW;
St Mary's Cathedral College - Sydney, NSW (1960s);
Edmund Rice College - Wollongong, NSW (1982-83); and
Trinity Senior High School (now incorporated into Kildare Catholic College) - Wagga Wagga, NSW ((early 1990s).
Brother Lennox was jailed in 2019 over charges of sexual abuse committed against two under age boys in the 1970s - one from St Paul’s Catholic College and the other from St Patrick’s College Goulburn. On 29 March 2019, Brother Lennox was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment with a non-parole period of six months.
The NSW Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has stated that they are planning to have Brother Lennox face trial again for five counts on which the 2018 jury did not reach a verdict. This trial is scheduled to be held in 2020 after Brother Lennox is released from jail in 2019.
