Brother Peter E. Noonan
Brother Peter Eymard Noonan (born approximately 1949 and died in 2004) was a former member of the Christian Brothers who allegedly sexually abused schoolboys. Allegations of sexual abuse have been made in relation to the following schools:
St Mary's Boys’ School - Toorak, Victoria (in the late 1960s);
St Virgil’s College - Austins Ferry, Tasmania (1970s);
St Kevin's College - Toorak, Victoria; and
Christian Brothers’ College - St Kilda, Victoria (headmaster in 1987).
Brother Noonan used to also manage the Treacy Centre in Melbourne, Victoria which was owned by the Christian Brothers and which was leased out as family-friendly function centre, especially to primary schools for various activities.
Moody Law is currently representing a client who has made allegations of sexual abuse against Brother Noonan when he was a teacher at St Virgil’s. Moody Law has also represented and is still representing clients who have made allegations of sexual and physical abuse against other members of the Christian Brothers at various institutions and schools.
