Stephen Grant Randall

Stephen Grant Randell (born 19 February 1956) is a former Australian Test cricket match umpire. Steve Randell made his debut as an umpire at the first-class level in 1980-81 at an age of just 24 years. He made his debut at the international level four years later when he officiated in a Test match between Australia and West Indies on 24 October at the Melbourne Cricket ground. Between 1984 and 1988, Randell umpired in a total of 88 One Day International matches. He also umpired in one Women's ODI in 1991. He umpired in 36 Test matches between 1984 and 1988, which was the highest number by an Australian Umpire at that time. Stephen Randall was also a lay teacher who taught physical education at Marist Regional College in Burnie, Tasmania in the 1980s.

Stephen Grant Randell was accused and arraigned on an indictment containing 32 counts of indecent assault upon 15 females in 1998, contrary to s 127 of the Tasmanian Criminal Code. He pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. In 1999, he was eventually found guilty of 15 charges of indecent assault against nine girls when he was teaching at Marist Regional College in Burnie between 1981 and 1982. He was sentenced to four years jail with a two-year minimum, and was released on parole in May 2002.
