Brother Romuald Cable (Francis William Cable)
Brother Romuald Cable, also known as Brother Romuald was born 3 May 1932. He became a Marist Brother in 1952 and served for a long period of time in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
In 2013, Brother Romuald was charged with around 60 charges of child sexual abuse committed against 22 children. He was convicted in 2015 regarding 19 of his victims. The charges were heard in the Newcastle Local Court and the indecent assaults were committed against students at Marist Brothers College Hamilton, Marist Brothers College Maitland, and Marist Brothers College Pagewood.

St Vincent's Boys Home - Westmead , NSW (late 1950s);
Marist Brothers Maitland - Maitland, NSW (early 1960s);
Parramatta Marist High School (in the 1960s before transferring to Pagewood) - Westmead, NSW ;
Marist Brothers College Pagewood (now Champagnat Catholic College Pagewood) Pagewood, NSW - (1960s);
Marist Brothers College Kogarah - Bexley, NSW (from 1968 into the 1970s); and
Marist Brothers College Dundas (now St. Patrick's Marist College) - Dundas, NSW (mid-1970s).
Between 1978 and 1989, Francis William Cable left the Marist Brothers and worked as a lay teacher at St Edmunds Christian Brothers College, Canberra.
Francis (Frank) Cable is currently serving time at Long Bay Jail and will be eligible for parole in 2026.
