Father Peter Creede

Father Peter Creede was a member of the Vincentian Order (Congregation of the Mission) who was born in Ireland but grew up in Clayfield, Brisbane. He was ordained in Sydney and served at the following parishes whilst a member of the Vincentian Order:

• Southport (Queensland);

• Wandal (Queensland);

• Ashfield (NSW); and

• Malvern (Victoria)

Father Creede was also a teacher at St Stanislaus College (“Stanis”) in Bathurst, New South Wales. St Stanislaus College has been reported by the Royal Commission to be an institution linked to numerous allegations involving child sexual abuse, committed by past teachers/servants of the Vincentian Order. In 2013, the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne made a submission to the Victorian Parliamentary Inquiry (VPI) into the handling of child abuse by religious and other organisations admitting Father Creede had sexually abused under-age children in Melbourne. Father Creede died in 2004 and Victoria Police where unable to prosecute him. Furthermore, other allegations of sexual abuse by Father Creede have been made against him from other parishes where he served at.
