Brother Wilfred Eastmure

Brother Wilfred Eastmure was a former Christian Brother who served/taught at the following institutions/schools:

• St Augustine's Orphanage - near Geelong, Victoria (1944-45 and 1954-62);

• St Vincent's Boys’ Home - South Melbourne (early 1960s);

• St Joseph's Catholic Technical College - South Melbourne (1960s);

• Aquinas College - Ringwood, Melbourne (late 1960s); and

• Cathedral College - East Melbourne (late 1960s - early 1970s).

It has been reported that Brother Eastmure was accused of sexually abusing children at St Augustine’s Orphanage, St Vincent’s and Aquinas College. A further allegation has been made against Brother Eastmure when he taught/served at Cathedral College in East Melbourne. Victoria Police started to investigate Brother Eastmure in the 1990s only to realise that he had died in 1988.
