Brother Vincent Crawford
Brother Vincent Crawford was born in 1932 and was a member of the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ, commonly known as the Passionist order. Brother Crawford was also known as Brother ‘Brendan’ Crawford which was his religious name before he reverted to his birth name of Brother Vincent Crawford.
In July 2009, Brother Vincent Crawford appeared at the Hornsby Local Court in Sydney, charged with indecent assaults, allegedly committed against a girl between the ages of 14 to 17 when she was a parishioner of St Anthony in the Fields in St Ives area between 1975 and 1980. In 2010, however, the court was told that Brother Crawford who was aged 77 at the time, was medically unfit to undergo further court proceedings. Consequently, all charges against Brother Crawford were withdrawn.
